Not sure if its relevant but I've noticed mine will do it occasionally but only when it's cold in the morning. Usually when I get to work after cycling my brakes through the traffic it works just fine. Never had a issue in the afternoons or when it's warm outside.

Yeah you broke the nub off the end. Wood screw is the fastest and easiest fix and then you don't have to worry about another cheap piece of plastic. I still use the shim when I take my hand controls off though.

Here is a pic of the #4 wood screw in it's place on mine.

The head of the button breaks off and leaves a hole. You just carefully drill the hole out a little and screw a #4 x 3/8 pan head phillips screw from Lowes or Home Depot in that hole and the screw head replaces the button head.

Could I drill the lever out instead? I think last time I had my controls apart one of the torx bolts were starting to strip in the housing. What size drill-how deep?

Well I put a little screw in the switch and shimmed it out. Seems to work, the lever is pulled back a little but I dont think the brakes will drag.

Good deal bro. I hope that it holds up as well for you as it has for me.

Don't know why the lever stays pulled in a little but the light goes off now so i'm happy about that. Its an adjustable fix too. I had to pull it back apart and back the screw out of the switch a little more. I also wedged a small jock washer in behind the switch to push it out. The brass one was not there that I could see.

That's why I drilled, tapped and used a small machine screw in the lever itself. Comes out and adjusts, if needed, in about 5 seconds.
