Some random questions for new Deluxe mods

You can buy a kit from any HD dealer that comes with the red turn lenses and a small module that just plugs inline under the seat (real easy) that converts signals to running, brake and turn. To me it makes a big difference in your visibility from the rear. 3 lights instead of 1, running and braking. One thing about the kit, the red signal lenses are smooth rather than a defused lense like the stock brake. What happens, especialy at night is the smooth turn signal lens are much brighter than the tail/brake defused lense with the stock bulbs. I went to a lower wattage bulb in the turn signals to get them to match perfectly.. Think the stock were 24W and I found a 12W worked best.. any auto parts store should have them as they are standard single filament tail light bulbs.. 1157 I think it is..
Do you need to take the fender or wheel off to add the modular? Or can you get under it

With the lenses it's about $80 (dealer price) if memory serves, from 2 years ago. Look under the seat, right side rear and you can see a small connector. Front wiring to rear wiring connector. Just goes inbetween. It's about bout 1 inch by 1/2 inch in size. I wired/spiced my LED plate into the tail light wire. Real easy. Hot lead into tail light hot lead and ground to old licenses plate light ground tab.. I soldered and covered with heat shrink tube.. Leave a litte extra wire just incase you ever have to revert it to the stock fixture.. If you do it that way of course. Search for HD part number 69461-06C. Thats not the right number for your bike, but that's what the module looks like.
