I sold my 05 wide glide when I retired six years ago.... I'm finally getting another bike. A new Fat Boy, should be picking it up tomorrow if I can get done helping a friend move. I love the looks of the FB and bought without even test riding it. What can I expect, comparing the FB to my old WG? Man I feel like a kid at Christmas..... can't wait.
First of all, congratulations. You're like an old horse returning home. Secondly, you tell your friend AMF YOYO (Adios, MF'er, Your On Your Own). You have a bike to pick up.
A Dyna Wide Glide's a snack... a Fatboy's a meal ! You can expect sheer exhilaration. There's nothing like a Softail. Well, I know someone who's not getting any sleep tonight. Post some pics when you can.
glad to hear all the positive comments..... man, i better be home in time tomorrow to pick it up or i'll have to wait till tuesday (they're closed sunday and monday)... pictures tomorrow if i get it.....

I no the feeling just got riding myself set idle for couple yrs but had to mount back up lol
Congrats and welcome back, I sorta know the feeling .
The new Bikes are a lot more powerful out of the gate, and as others indicated, you will be highly tempted to replace the air cleaner and Muffler to un-choke that engine.
The tranny will feel better, high speed will seem easier.
The 200 rear tire may feel heavy at first till you get used to it, the front end will feel slower or more stable than the skinny 21 of the WG.
The suspension will not handle as good as your WG, but I do not think you will be racing anytime soon
a picture as promised.... it sucked, i had to ride home in the rain... but now, all is good....
Oh yeahhhh Ember red sunglo/Merlot... very nice.
Congratulations again. You know, instead of riding home in the rain, you could easily have waited another 3 days and hope it didn't rain then.
Enjoy your fatty gsport (I want to call you G spot)
BTW, your buddy owes you big time for helping him move. Since you rode it home in the rain it probably has water spots all over it, although, it looks spotless in the picture. I'm sure he wouldn't mind detailing it the first time. Shouldn't take him more that 3 or 4 hours.
