Default apes and cables

Ive recently decided i want apes. I know for something like 14 inch i need extensions but im wondering how much "play" is in the stock cables? Ive read some people not having to change cables for mini apes and wondering how tall you can go without buying the extension kit?

4-5" risers is about the limit. After that your looking at starting to change cables. Depending on the rise, width and pull back of the new bars compared to stock. Most dealers like Carlini and others should be able to help you figure it out.

I would go higher. Plenty of folks I know have wished they went an extra two inches higher. Just upgrade the cables and do it up right!
