Mpg
Are you using the going by the gas gauge to determine when you need to fill or the distance on your trip meter? The gauges are notoriously inaccurate. I get 175-200 miles on a full tank. I also have one of the few accurate gauges in the Forum.
holy ****..75 miles to a tank? even my old sportster used to get 130, and that was on a 3.2 gallon tank. no way man, unless someone at Hogwarts is casting spells on your bike you need to have someone re-jet your carburetor. like was posted..pull your spark plugs out. if they're black, you're running too much fuel. if they're white (haha, in this case, not happening), you're too lean..and if they're clean, you're good.
on my 96" i was getting 47 or so high way.. even with a tank lift kit I was still able to hit over 180 miles to the tank. Haven't gone out for long trips on my 107" yet, but even that one is projected to get 39-45mpg based on other riders' inputs.
Another thing you can do is pull your air cleaner cover off and see if there's any gas or something on the inside of that which is spilling back in from the carb.

Ive had a lot of bikes since the early 70's, none have ever got below 40 mpg (even the big bore bikes). What I dont know is what happens to gas mileage when I put the high flow breather on with the fuel remap. Am about to PayPal a set of Vance and Hines Big Shots Staggered.
DANG, and I thought my bike was bad getting 30 to 35 MPG! I have a 5 gallon tank and I fill up when I start hitting 150, 170 mile mark. I have a fuel gauge on my left tank whole but it's only good enough to get me thinking about gas when I am down to 2 or 3 lights on that cap. You seriously have something wrong and if all that raw gas is flowing down to your cylinder's and cutting your oil giving you bad lubrication you can be headed for trouble, serious trouble too. If it were me and my bike I don't think I would be running or riding it until I found out what was wrong and getting it fixed. Also, if you have poor lubrication going on we all know what that does, scar your cylinder walls, the rings and excessive heat and those 3 things right there alone will ruin your motor and it won't take much of that to do it either. Good luck and keep us posted. I would like to know what you found out and what the fix was. P.S. is your odometer/tripmeter correct?

What he said .
I have a 92 Heritage and it gets 48 MPG .
RR
I must have had a blonde moment, had the bike MOT"ed but had to put standard pipes on,anyway ive put the screamin eagles back on and the mpg has improved big time and its no longer running like crap,so all due to the standard pipes
horrible things choking it up
horrible things choking it up
Even with the stock pipes on you are probably getting much better MPG than you think-
