I have Vance and Hines 2 into 1 pro comp exhaust on my 2008 Night train. I am in the military and stationed in Germany. For the inspection you have to be below 95dbs. I know for a fact that I am over that. What are some ways to lower the decibels temporarily to pass inspection?
V&H does offer the quiet baffles for the Competition Series, although I don't know how much quieter they'll be (mine aren't...) or you could always through the stock pipes on for a day if you still have them...
Thanks guys for your input. I wish I still had the stock pipes but with moving all over the world I didnt want to pack and unpack them. As far as having friends here I just got here in the heart of winter and not many guys took there bikes out yet for me to see what people have.
SPINOLEO - Yeah the Air Base has changed a lot. It is now the home of the USAREUR headquarters. Also do you have a web site for the the piece that you are talking about by smart parts?
SOFT 02 - Pulling a plug wont hurt the engine? Wonder if I can get it past inspection with one less plug.

Pull the baffle and wrap it with steel wool or fiberglass if you got the one that has a cap on each end and a smaller baffled tube that is centered between the caps. If the baffle is dang near the same size of the ID then I'm not sure other than putting a few strands of safety wire across the back end so you can stuff a few loose pieces of steel wool in it so it won't come flying out when revved.
DEADANIMAL - thank you we must have been posting at the same time. Awesome Ill try that tomorrow. But will also be looking into other ways cause I am unsure what I am working with right now. Its late here and the morning comes way to quick.
