Default First post-winter mods ride, now questions

I got my first ride of the spring in today, beautiful day today and I took advantage

So, first impression of the Gangsters is they look bad ***, aren't to bad when moving but slow maneuverability they are a bit scary. These are 16's and I'm thinking of switching out to the 14's but don't want to buy new cables, so will my LA Choppers 15"-17" cable kit work with the 14's? I assume they will since the gangsters run ~1"-1.5" taller than listed, but I want confirmation.

Next, I'm running a springer heritage seat and man that thing is slick. If it weren't for the bar in the back I'd fall off the thing, is there anything I can do to make it less slick?

Lastly, there is a god awful howl from the front brakes, it started at all speeds at first and with more stops it has moved to just before a complete stop. I'm thinking it may be the stock pads bedding themselves into the new chrome rotors, I'm going to try some brake quiet but is it possible its actually just because of the stock pads have 2000 miles on them and I shoulda replaced them?

Also, the mirrors are now looking direcly at my elbows, thinking I'm going to pick up the mirror extensions from the dealer tomorrow and see if that helps, any suggestions there would be good too.

Thanks

cables should work with the shorter bars, just gonn have extra cable somewhere..

seat, clean it with some cleaner, do no use amorall or anything like that on it...

change ur pads, DO NOT USE brake quiet on them... my sporty and deuce both have no speed brake noise.... should always replace pads with new rotors, over time the rotors/pads wear to each other and pads will get groves in them, using them on a nice flat surface rotor will eat the pads and could also hard the new rotor

I had the same concerns when I ordered my 16" Gangster's. I hope I like them more than you like yours. If I don't, I won't be buying 14's though. I will use them come hell or high water or just throw my old bars back on. I have way over spent on my bike this winter and I just want to keep going so I have to pull the plug somewhere and put a stop to the madness....for this year.

I hear you Tony, I figure I can probably sell the 16's with a little loss and have to eat it. But that's better than being uncomfortable. I pulled them back a bit after my first ride and the felt much better on the second go, just not as good looking.
