Check out the new Vibranator vibration dampers from Ricor. I haven't tried them, but am very tempted to get a set for my girls Buell. They are tuned mass vibration dampers, seem pretty high tech, and are specific to models and engine type etc. Here's a link to the site:
I used to have the same problem. I now have the Kuryakyn Iso grips with the black large rubber pads. The grips are large and meaty as prev. described. I also have what they call the throttle boss. That allows you to use the side of your palm to help hold some pressure on your throttle without gripping it fully and so tightly. Then I went a step further and added some 14" bars to change the angle or pitch of my shoulder/arms. With all that said it gave me tons of relief for my hands. Just my 2 cents
My hands go numb anytime I ride without gloves. I ride with leather palmed work gloves in warm weather. They work great. I also agree with relaxing your grip.
Another vote for the Iso grips . . . Also, you may want to try and sleep with a brace on for a few weeks if you haven't tried that yet. You'll be amazed at how well it works. You can pick 'em up at any chain pharmacy/store.
Iso grips with the throttle boss... had the throttle boss adjusted for highway speed... did some work and forgot to re position it...just wasn't the same... very good upgrade
I am running the stock bars on my 09 deluxe, I would like to try mini apes but I figure it would be worst for my hands, what would be the options to upgrade the bars?
The mini apes that came on my bike killed my back but some swear by them, so the options for bars are almost limitless. I like low bars with a very slight bend forward to pull my back so it doesn't hurt. Others feel different.
I like the idea of relaxing your grip too, and see how that helps you. And before anything, I'd try changing grips before bars. Might save ya a few bucks unless you were going to do that anyway.
I used to have a '07 Road King, i swapped the stock bars for heritage bars....what a difference, it was like riding a new bike. My hands still tended to get a little tingly but after a much longer period of time. Just the change in riding position was all it took. Have a '13 Street Glide and am thinking of swapping out the bars on it also (I'm 5'7", so anything to bring the bars closer to me helps)
