Poly's might transmit a bit more vibration but worth getting rid of that gooey feeling in the bars IMO. My bike I have them rigid mounted and I love it. Might be a bit extreme for some though.
Not on today's Softails, bro...don't feel a bit of vibration with poly bushings, here.

Dismantle the entire riser assembly, inspect, replace anything that's bent or misshapen, replace the rubber bushings with poly and ride on...

Yep, the bolt may be the weak link in that set up. Have you taken the bolt completely out?
And....stop washing your bike! you're making me look bad.

There's no way you damaged the bushings based on what you described. Geez, They're rubber for gods sake. If something metal got tweaked you'll see it even more with poly bushings.

I bought a bike that tipped over in the crate during shipping. The bar was offset on the riser like you mentioned and ya it was a bent bolt.

From his description of the risers I'm guessing bent bolt also. I have the Deluxe risers on my Heritage and I can see how their length could apply enough leverage to bend the bolt.

Hope he lets us curious georges know what actually happened.

New riser bushings come in this weekend. I'll post up findings Monday. Gonna ride it to work this week. It rides true with hands off, but visually it drives me crazy.

have you ever driven a car and the steering wheel is offset even when its going straight?
My old street bobs mini apes were like that. i was tracking straight but had a slight leftward tilt. same thing. It ended up being the bolts. Hope the bushings fix it. but if not look to the bolts.

Pappa,

I had the same set of events down to catching it from falling over just 2 weeks ago. What I found to fix the problem was to correctly install the risers.

As I was assessing the problem I noticed that I had put 2 cupped washers on the bottom of the one riser bolt which allowed the side that was high after catching it to move as it was not captured properly.

I moved the one cupped washer that was incorrectly installed to the proper spot and checked the bolts for straightness and got it all back together and all is well now.
