Wink Dilema, what to do

Long ago in my teens I had an old sporter, great bike and great times. after almost 40 years I purchased myself a very nice low miles Harley softtail deluxe with 4400 miles on it. Bike is like brand new and had Vance and Hines pipes on it. Zero problems and rides out great. Recently I went down to get my morotcycle endorcement, man what a sham that is 225 bucks !!! anyway while there There is a Harley dealer right next store I went tinside to brouse to kill some time on a break.
Salesman starts talking to me and shows me this really nice 2012 Deluxe with like 1200 miles on it, trying to get me to trade. Now I paid 10.800 for my 2006 with 4400 miles on it. Out the door total on the 2006 was 11.643. The salesman told me they would give me 10500 for my like new 2006. They are asking 14300. for the 2012 Deluxe. I love my 2006 as it is paid for with cash and it runs well with no issues. I changed all the oils with fresh mobile one synethic 20-50 and installed a new wet K&N air filter.
I am not one of these guys who has who has to have the latest and greatest...But the 2012 does have the 6 speed and the cruise control... But I would have to make payments on the balance of what would be owed on the 2012. I know I should be happy with what I have but well you know...what would you guys do???? One last thing the 2012 bike is sold as is with no warrenttee....
comments ??? and thanks in advance

Trade up. Payments wont be much. you'll get the 103 as well.

Keep what you got.
You have basically a new bike with no payments.

Why would a 2012 with 1,200 miles be sold as is with no warranty??

Keep what you have.. Bump the 88" to 95 or 98 and still come out with no payments.

Bumping up the 88 to a 98 would bring him close enough to that 14000 mark... and he could be paying payments instead of shelling out that cash in 1 lump sum. But ya the whole warranty thing is weird. doesn't it still have factory warranty on it? and you can extend that warranty too.

You are happy with what you have and it's paid for. It would be and easy choice for me but it's not my money.

No way should you buy a bike from a Dealer without any kind of Warranty and I'm not talking about purchasing an extended warranty. They should stand behind what they sell or tell them to keep it.

As for trading up, there will always be something bigger and better. The fact that you are on here asking sounds like you won't really be happy with your Deluxe unless you have the 2012 model.

I always find it's better to get what you really want the first time and not settle because it will cost you more in the end when you finally buy what you wanted in the first place.

Default Thank you guys for the responces thus far

I am not a person who needs help making up his own mind..But here is my thought. I love riding and the miles are going to add up fast on the 2006 Deluxe. right now it is pristeen in everyway. I am not a power hog and have no need to go fast or impress anyone.
My thought was before I put lots of miles on this baby should I take the oppertunity to trade up while I can still get most of my money out on a trade for a better or newer bike.
I have many passions, family, guns, fishing, ect.. This is just one more that will cost me $$$ and I really don't need that. I have learned along time ago to be content with what I have. BUTTTT as I get older I have grown to understand that there is much wisdom is having much counsul...or some such thing.
I thought I had this riding thing out of my blood and have been fighting the urge for many years to buy another bike. when younger I had many different bikes mostely jap stuff that went very fast...But now I am old and slow.... LOL
Old friends see me on my new scoot and say Hey man yiu bought a girls bike.. Like I give a sh*t what they think....I just want to have fun..I don't get into the Harley life style thing and I know some do..nothing wrong with that. I just love riding... and the freedom of being able to jump on my scoot and free my mind... I took the red pill many years ago.
Our freedoms are fast coming to a close in this country.. Freedom is just a word anymore and means nothing to most anymore.
I am different or old school if you will. I remember when a man was defined by his conduct and his charactor...today its all about greed and the entitlement mentality. Jumping on my scoot frees me from the idiots of the world and this liberal group think crap. When much younger and in much better health I had a bumper sticker on my truck which read "live to ride, and ride to live" The more I see of where this planet is headed I value simple things.
I just want to make the best decision here with my re-introduction into Harleys and riding. I don't have time for power trips or ego's I just love the ride and the bikes for the soul and charactor in which they impart into my world.
I value friendship and honor and I value a nice ride with no worries... Please keep the responces coming. I love learning and at my age I have learned that not all change is good. But at times change can be a powerful force within our lives... I will probably keep my 2006 scoot as I feel I got a good deal on it and paying more tax's on another bike just gives me a sick felling in my gut.
Be well one and all and keep the rubber side down as they say.
God bless

I think the Deluxe is a great looking bike. And I love the 88/5 speed. I think the 6 speed was more for the EPA than the rider. Unless you ride a lot over 80mph I see no need for a 6 speed.

Just stay out of the dealer. I haven't been interested in a newer bike. I have too many other things to buy, and I love my bike.
