Default mono tube question

I just received the mono tubes in the mail. I have a few questions,
1) there wasn't any bottom cups in the box I am assuming just use my old ones
2) should I go 1" or 2" lower? still want a good riding bike
3) preload how many clips should I use? I know it will be different depending on 1 or 2" drop. I am 180lbs

Hey bro, just received mine also in the mail. Those are great questions. Never thought about it. For the cups, I have no clue. I will call progressive on that one. The clips are the big and most important question I ask myself too. I was told a couple things. One, depends on the bike and your weight. Second, which really sucks for me is and what I was told is keep trying different ways to get the best possible ride. The reason I said it sucks for me is to keep pulling the front end off everytime I want to try a different height, 1 or 2 inch. What are you riding? I have an 06 FatBoy. I weigh 210. Can you keep me posted. I would appreciate it. Good Luck...Ray...

Guy's, I hate to admit this but I had mine done for me. I don't do much wrenching because of the hours I work. When I get a day off I want to ride not work on it. In any case I have the monotubes -1". It is a much more firm front end then with the springs. It is also much more responsive too. It's like having a sport bike front end on a cruiser. I have told a few guys that has gotten a hold of me to not allow yourself to get caught in a tight turn going to fast. You have to ride it like a new to you bike until you get the true feel of it. I don't say that to scare you I say that to prepare you. The tubes push down onto the road much harder which in turn push's back on you. You just need to be aware of that so you don't get yourself in trouble and end up in a ditch. It's like with anything new, it changes how the bike handles and rides even if it's in a good way. Since I put the Shotgun on I am in the process of having another inch taken off which will firm it up even more. I think you both will enjoy your bike with these on your bike's. Good luck, ride say.

If you ain't throwin sparks you ain't ridin! It's like anything, ride according to the conditions of the road and your bike allows. I only drag if I want too and I never bottom out. I don't have the answer to -2" because I have not gotten my bike back yet from winter mods. I expect it to be that much more firm and I will change how I ride according to what the bike allows me to do. It is my opinion that if a person bottoms out he isn't paying attention to what's in front of him. If you scrap in curves you probably got into it going to fast. I ride mine slammed with just a touch of rebound in back and I never have a problem.

I believe you need part #31-2502. Part 331-2504 is for the lowered kit.

On the second part number should read Part # 31-2504 not 331-2504...
