Interesting. I mentioned black chrome fasteners 6 hours ago and you stated "I don't want chrome fasteners against the black engine cases" ???
I meant regular chrome...Sorry for my misunderstanding.. I can't believe I missed the word "BLACK" next to chrome in your initial post. I must be losing it Doc. My apologies..
Thanks to everyone

The only way to get the black color like that I know of is anodizing, but it wears over time. On my hand controls I blacked out the bolts using nail polish. It's looked as good as the first day for over a year. I also clear my chrome bolts to keep rust away.
The black chrome looks cool, but man they are expensive. It's not my business, but personal I like the chrome against the black. It has a mechanical feel that modern things lack.
Either way, I'm interested, and would love to see pics when you finish it.
I'll post the pics after it's done..Probably in a few months as I have a few things to do..My whole idea is...If the fastener is against a black piece, I'll make the fastener black. If the fastener is on a chrome piece, it will be chrome..I think it cleans everything up and gives the chrome a nice canvass to sit against
