Default New Member Post - Softail Deluxe Transformation

Long time lurker first time posting. I've had my 05 Deluxe for about a year and a half. There was lots of work done to it when I bought it but I wanted to figure out how to make it mine. After spending lots of time browsing photos here I think its starting to finally look like how I envisioned it when i started.

Here is a pic from when I first picked it up (summer 2011)

Here is a pic from this weekend with all my projects to date completed:

Here are the Items I have Added:
Vanes and Hines Longshots
La Pera Barebones Seat (and leather passenger cover)
Swing Arm Bag (Not Pictured)
HD Nostalgic Air Cleaner Cover
Trim Rings for Passing Lamps and Head Light
Blacked out Turn Signals (front and rear)
Blacked out Tombstone Tail Light
Dead Creek Cycles 2" Lowering Kit
Stripped Forks and Buffed them out as best I Could.

Next winter I'll be doing a shotgun shock and a larger diameter front rim/tire.

Thanks,

Vinny

Hey Dude, nice bike. Mine is an 06, EFI. What brand and size tire are you thinking of going to when you do and does it come in a WWW style tire? I see so many guys going to skinnier tires, which is fine and they look nice on their bikes, but I would like to fatten my up a bit to be honest. I LOVE that big fat tire out in front of me. With the suspension mods I have it just eats up adverse road conditions and I never have to fight it even when I get down in one of those long cracks in the road. I won't replace it for some time because what I have is new but I would like to know and file that way for the day when I do need it. Thanks in advance for your reply. (EDIT)..P.S., your going to LOVE the Shotgun on there. The only thing you won't like is wondering why you waited so long!!!

Vinny,
First of all, welcome. I like what you've done to your ride. I have the same bike except mine is an 07. I have a question for you. Do you know what model/make those highway pegs are? I have been looking for that exact part for my deluxe without much luck. And i noticed that you didn't list them in your list of mods done. I know another member on here had some but never said what brand they were. I can't remember the guy's name to look up the post.

Anyways, the bike looks good. You must have put in some work to get that rear yellow wall white again. What did you use?

Haven't even put some thought too it yet, but it most certainly will be a white wall.

I'm not sure on the highway pegs, sorry they were on there when I bought it. As for the rear tire its new (i put around 10k mi on it last summer). But I do keep this one clean with Westley's (http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...LAID=109349421) and it keeps them nice and bright.

Hell of a lot better, and you did justice to the good things on the original bike.
