Default Cam job

Ok next month i am going to do the cams on my bike. it is a 2006 softail standard with 33100 miles on it. I havent checked the tensioners at all. I bought a used se hybrid plate with a 203 cam in it already. it came assembled. Ive got a lot of questions

1. should i tear the used hybrid plate apart to make sure its put together correctly? the guy i bought it from said it only has on summer of riding on it. so not many miles. heres two pics of it.

2. I want to make sure i get everything i need to do the job before hand so i dont get everything open and figure out i need something else only to go to the dealership and them say they need to order it. been there to many times. so here is a list of parts i think i need am i missing anything?

Cam cover gasket
oil pump o ring
2 o rings that go between engine case and cam plate
2 lifter gaskets
4 new lifters
2 Screaming eagle inner cam bearings
1 set of Screaming eagle adjustable pushrods(Does this come with new seals?)
1 tube of assembly lube
1 case of beer

3. are there any other special tools needed other than the inner cam bearing puller and installer?

4. The bike as i said is an 06 standard with se air cleaner, mikuni hsr 42 carb and is still the 88 inch motor. Will there be much tuning required or is the stock jets in the mikuni pretty good for a bolt in cam?

The gear locking tool that goes between the cam and crank gear is useful. But you can stand or lean on the rear brake pedal to keep the engine from rotating when loosening and tightening those bolts. If you get the tubes for the adjustable pushrods, they should come with o-rings, otherwise you'll need to get them. Save the beer til after you're done. Good luck and have fun!!

I'd round up a dial indicator and check runout on the pinion while there. I was doing a 107 big bore upgrade the first of this month but when opened up and cked, it wasn't to spec for me. It was to H-D but I'd bought gear drive cams and the runout needs to be minimum to use gears. " Oh darn", I told my wife, I've got to get the crank done now. Doing a S&S 4 5/8 stoke 124 kit now...hehehe. Anyone need a 107 kit with ported heads and Woods TW 400G cams?

Good score on that, I'd like to find a used drop in setup like that.

You will however want to remove the oil pump and install it in the engine first, then put the plate in.

Thanks Ryan.

Jess Nice deluxe. You can come over if ya want I'm not sure when I'm gonna do it yet but I'll let ya know if your interested.

I've watched all the videos on you tube. And I still have one question when I install the oil pump the one video I watched said you want to rotate the rear wheel to get the oil pump in it's sweet spot. How do you know it's in the sweet spot. Everything else seems pretty.self explanatory
