This might be a stupid question but why can I not find the main site for Z bars? I was under the impression that they are a company like Carlini or Arlen Ness. I cant find a central location to look at them.
The Shop said if I order my own bars they will take 300 off of what I owe them as long as I show them the receipt. I either want Carlini Pist apes, or a specific set of BR bars. If I have to go through the shop for whatever reason, I am going to get the Todds Cycle bars.
By law your insurance company nor your shop cannot force you to repair the bike a certain way. Insurance will only pay for what was actually damaged, but the money is yours to do with what you want. If you have your heart set on the the Carlinis and the shop can't get them, I would suggest ordering them direct, and getting the shop to reimburse you the $300 leftover from the insurance check. If the shop won't install them becuase you didn't buy from them, find a new shop... I have settled for parts in the past that I was not 100% stoked about and ended up replacing them with what i wanted in the long run and spending double anyways. Good luck, and shoot me a PM if you have any questions- I am a motorcycle insurance adjuster and deal with this stuff daily.

So I was going to buy a set of Blem Pist Apes utilizing the money I had to do it with and the shop said no because they are picky about what leaves their doors and the won't put anything scratched on a bike and they said the insurance company doesn't like that. Can they do that?

Bro... you are dealing with an idiot who is trying to get your bike his way or he is an idiot and thinks that you are trying to get more out of the insurance than you are entitled to. He is an idiot for thinking that way and I wouldn't deal with him. Tell him you want to work with someone else. Just order those bars and tell them they are not blems.

Yeah he is a total asshat. He's not allowed to dictate what you do or do not put on your bike. You can pocket the whole check from the insurance company if you really wanted to. Hell my brother in law dropped his bike, got like 4K from insurance and dropped 3500 getting the motor built and 500 on minimal body and paint touch ups. Also like I said earlier I have a set of blems and I guarantee that jerkoff won't be able to see a imperfection on them.
