My 05 deluxe seems to have some type of belt noise, wineing sound from lt front
floor board area.I was advised that the belt was to tight,so i loosened the belt
tention. After that the wineing noise went away, now upon rideing during throttle there is no noise until i let of the throttle, the belt seems like it is rubbing and a warping kind of sound.Any suggestions greatly appreciated*****teebar
Yep like he said, check the alignment, also make sure you use a gauge to adjust the tension, unless you have done this many time, this is nothing to guess at.
How many miles, do you ride on sand roads a lot, the belt, pulleys might be wore out.
Get you a gage. Good one on Amazon. Set your tension like it says for your bike. Forget the twist and other expert ways. That belt and pulleys and the trouble to change it is crazy high. Softail needs a helper or like I do it lying across seat to do check. Be sure rear wheel is aligned to engine so belt tracks correctly Normal is light pressure to out side flange rotating tire as it drives. You have 1/32 tolerance to swingarm bearing centerlines. Softails align mainly to engine / transmission. All OK?, your belt may be too clean. Dust it with a little talcum. The sound if it's your belt will go away.
