Did you try untwisting it and then trying to start up the bike before ordering your part? If you're lucky you may have just kinked the hose a bit and not done any physical damage, which would mean you wouldn't need to install the new hose, which is marginally more of a pain in the *** than just removing the pump and filter to untwist it.
Look at the bright side of this though, you'll probably consult the manual new before taking almost anything apart, and if anyone else does it you'll be in a perfect position to help them out as well. I guarantee you aren't the first guy on here who took his tank off without realizing that the fuel line was a Q/D, and you're far from the last.
YouTube some vids for removing the pump assembly, if its anything like my 05, it's a huge PITA! After watching the vids you'll know about the pump arm release, which is tough to find even if you know where it is. One other thing I found helped is to remove the float arm as soon as you can access the screw that holds it on. Without the float arm in place, it's much easier to maneuver out. Reverse for install, work the pump assembly in, and reattach the float after its about 3/4 in the tank. After you do it it will make more sense, just don't drop that screw in the tank!
And you'll need a crimp tool for the hose clamps, they need to be tight and crushing the crap out of the clamp without using the proper tool will just lead to leaks down the road. Trust me, I've had my pump out about 4 times in the last month chasing down a problem. Oh, and I don't think the Q/D line comes with the clamps so you might want to pick up a couple while you're there. You'll only need one but doesn't hurt to have extras.
And one other thing, don't forget to pick up a new tank gasket, and a new set of screws for the cover. The screws have captive plastic sealing washers that tend to get buggered up when removing them. And follow the torque spec, they don't need to be too tight, over-tightening will just crush the gasket and reduce its effectiveness. Nothing worse than a lap full of 93 octane!

The internal assembly from '07 to '09 is different, the only reason I know this is I bought a set of '07 fatboy tins with the intention of using the tank and rear fender as part of a paint set I was planning on putting on a '09 Crossbones, and the internal mounting brackets are different from one to the other - there are more on the '09.
All told it took a bit of fiddling with to get it put in, but I never needed to take anything apart. If I recall correctly the hoses aren't even crimped on, they're clipped in with plastic retainer collars. I know that I separated hose on the pump assembly from the float arm/filter assembly and put it back together without any tools, so I imagine that they've significantly changed it from your year to that one.
