Bought my 05 Fatboy used. It had street slammers at the time. I put the beach bars back on & love them.

The risers brought the bars back more than up. You could rotate the bars several inches up if you want, but I was looking for them to be closer so I adjusted them a little lower.
I rented a 2013 Heritage out in Arizona a few weeks ago and didn't care for the bars. But there are lots of posts here of guys who like that style. It might be worthwhile for you to rent a Heritage or a Street Bob for the day to see if you like the mini-ape bars. It's a lot cheaper than having new ones installed only to discover they are no better than the original ones.

I have tried both:

Low bars

And apes:

Handlebars are about as personal a part as you can install. I ran both and I will never go back to low bars. They look nice and have their pluses, but for me, apes surpass any bar in both comfort as well as style. But of course, thats just my opinion.

Default bars

I traded mine for the Street Slammer bars from Harley and really like them. Real neutral position for my wrists and with my Corbin seat I have to reach just a bit which is a good riding position for my back. Apes would be second on the list and beach bars last. Beach bars are cool around town but suck on a long ride for me.(Got one if you want)

+1 on the 4" pullback risers, much better than stock on my 2012 Fatty.

That's pretty much what I'm looking for on my 2010 FB. Closer, but not much higher. Just enough so my arms aren't totally straight, instead slightly bent. Just might have to get me a set of these. I'd love to see some pics of these on your ride if you get a chance.

Here are some 16s drag specialties buffalo bars 1.5 inch. This was on my old bike, but man these bars were great on my fatboy. I am running some Carlini's now, but these bars were a little more comfortable the way they sat. Not too high either... im 5ft 8in and they were about shoulder height.

They're nice and beefy like they should be on a FATboy!
