Yeah she was running when I put her up for deployment. I didn't change the filter, but drained the oil and put some new stuff in, and ran her to get it circulated. Yes I know I shoulda done the full change, but had to pack her away so I could get the rest of the stuff packed up. I'm just wondering how much residual oil will be on the cylinder walls to provide that initial lube before the oil pump get's it all back in circulation (and would the dealer even prime it before starting anyway)? Also besides the oil being old and dirty, and crap in the gas tank realistically how much damage could be done from starting it?
ive fired up things that were sittin for 20 years with no problems. One year is nothin.
I've left cars for 6 months at a time with no issue, but year and a half just wanted to get peoples opinions. I guess I'll see how she fares once I take her off the stand, and get her outta the pod.

Wasnt a slam. Seals wouldnt have dried out and other than changing fluids you should be good to go. If you had old gas in it it might cost you a pair of plugs.
Get it running if you can and ride it a bit to circulate the fluids then let them service it, getting it running and riding it will save you a bunch of coin. The dealer will charge you to just start it up anyway and nope they don't do anything but fire it up, take it easy at first, I say wake em up slow and all wil be fine.
Start it and ride it to the dealer, better yet start it and ride it home and drain all the fluids while its still hot. Be sure and check for rodents
Shouldn't be any rodents as it's in one of those pods. Not going to tempt riding it home as the registration and safety are expired. Also would need a ride back to town to get my car with the stuff I'm getting outta storage along with the bike.
