Well.....some of you probably saw my makeover thread, some probably saw the thread about my wreck. Well, here is the thread to document the rebuild. I honestly don't want to post wreck pics. Even though it doesn't look real bad, the estimate is close to 9000. Not sure what all will be done. I know it will still have apes, still have the rear fender and seat set up I had before. The motor will be opened up to a 103". I will stick to a metallic black, flat paint. I am thinking about doing some scallops on the tank in either a dark metallic grey(flat) or a flat red. If I do the flat red, I would like to have it done in a patina finish so that it is rubbed up a bit and the black shows through in some places. Not sure if I will stay with the same bars or not. Most likely I will.
Ok....got the check last week, but just got around to getting parts. I scored a sweet deal on a never mounted tank on fleabay. I am sticking with the same bars and a set of factory risers. Getting my stock primary powdercoated texture black and a set of stock levers that I found laying around done in satin. Blah blah blah. Here's the fun stuff so far. Getting a set of 103" jugs and pistons from a slim put on. RSD nostalgia rocker box, cam, tranny side, and front master cylinder covers all in black ops finish. Joker machine black serrated foot pegs, shifter peg and brake pedal pad. A black worx shock for the front end will be going on as well. I was going to go with either a pm headlight or the Todd's cycle martini light, but decided to stick with the stock style assembly with a powdercoated visor. So far it is looking like this thing will be even better than it was.
Oh and a Metz 200 55 17 in back and a 150 60 16 in front.
That front is going to look real mean. Are you mounting a different wheel or just throwing a wider tire on the stocker? If you are changing wheels and want to sell the stock ones, I'm interested.
