So I am sitting here reading the forums, i hear the sound of V twins. I look out the window and a Heritage rolls by in a beautiful candy red and white two tone. I head to admire it and see that the paint isbucks delux. I notice the hand scripted "Harley Davidson" on the tank and am blinded by the chrome. Wow!, I am thinking nice. Just then i see the crossed flags of the the Corvette emblem gluedon the air cleaner. WHAT?!?! Weak. Killed it all for me. Its not easy being cheesy.
First off I am jealous you can sit at home and read the Forums instead of riding while others are riding by you. I guess everyday is a riding day in SOCal? I was out today as the high got up yo 44 and the rain rolled in. So I came home to read the Forums!!!
I am actually at work! ssshhhhhhhhhhh! My window faces the parking lot of an office building andI am on the sixth floor soI see all the bikes rolling down the 101 as well. I will put another nickel in the sunshine machine for you!

I only have one question...why did my great grandparents decide to immigrate to Canada from Ireland, instead of Texas, Arizona or California. If only they'd have had the internet in the mid 1800's, then they could have done a search on 'year round riding locations' before choosing their destination. I'm jealous of ALL of you that can even sit at work and watch guys go by on their bikes. At least that means you can ride to/from work on yours. I'm still driving my truck. And probably will be for at least another month. (or two!!) Gotta agree though...I love my truck, but I wouldn't stick a Ford logo onto the air cleaner of my Fat Boy.
Cool Canadian story: I was at Laconia in '99 ,just got back to the campground from a few beers in Wiers and my buddies and I are headed for our site when this guy and his old lady flag us down.He invited us to his table and asked if we wanted a drink,so we set down ,had a few cocktails and began swapping stories, having a great time.I looked over at his bike,it was an old road king in really tough shape. It was rusty, pitted and had well over a hundred thou.on it.So I asked him about it.He said he's from some small town in Canada(I forgot where)and rides all winter, always has.
He says he woke up one Januarymorning about 3am and says to his wife" I'm going to take a ride to New Mexico".She pipes up and says to him,"don't forget to feed the dog",so he fed the dog and left and didn't come back 'til March"!!!!!!!!!! We all got laughing until the crack of dawn. What a great time!! I don't remember their names but I'll just bet he has a million miles on that bike and no fenders by now!! Ride on Northern brother, ride on!!!
