Default Coil Relocation help!

Hey Guys, I'm attempting to do a coil relocation on my scoot. I purchased this bracket off ebay and talked to the company about fitment. It was listed for my bike and was confirmed by the company over the phone. Upon installing I came across a major issue. The fuel line coming off the back of the throttle body is dead center of the bracket. I'm wondering if the fuel line can be modified? The bracket is really nice and well made so I would like to get it to work but at this point it is dependent on the fuel line issue. Any suggestions?

I'm going to start with the throttle body manufacturer and see what they say? I also wondered about a shop that makes fuel lines?

it looks like that line can be removed separately from the clamp that holds it in place. take the line out and get a tubing bender and see if the tube will fit in it. then bend it slightly to clear the bracket.

hopefully the line coming from the tank will flex enough to snap onto the tube once its reshaped. the tube does look like it would serviced separately if you mess it up.

It's an HPI Throttle Body and I talked to them today. You are correct, it is serviced separately and the tech said removing it was not a big deal. I assumed the o-ring would have to be replaced but he said most of the time you could re-use them. He also said bending the tube was not an issue. As I was contemplating bending it and looking at the process I also discovered the holes on the bracket do not line up with the coil? This part is obviously not made for my bike. I've got an email in to V-Twin tech support so I'm curious to see what they come back with. The part is only around $50 shipped and it really cleans up the top motor mount and if it worked would serve as a coil relocation bracket as well. It's a shame because a part like this would do great!

We were looking at your post earlier today in the shop, wondering what we were missing. We did not see how it would work with the bolt hole pattern.

You might be interested in the Coil Relo's we have. They are not chromed (powder coat black) but the actual bracket is 90% hidden anyway, or you could get it chromed.

They will fit, and they do not have any fuel line interference.

Thanks Kevin that's what I am considering. I went with this bracket because for around $50 it would clean up the factory top motor mount and relocate the coil. Sounded too good to be true...and unfortunately it was.

I actually got a wire extension from you earlier, because I thought this bracket would work, so all I really need it the brackets. I started to call you today but after messing with this bracket that was supposed to fit I had to leave it alone for a while.

According to V-Twin this fits 2000 and up Softails and apparently they haven't had a complaint till mine? This thing obviously will not fit due to the fuel stem issue plus the holes to mount the coil is about an inch too narrow. I'm curious to see what they come back with? Thanks for your help!

We are a V-Twin Dealer, so we know a little taste of frustration with them from time to time.

Give a call to the shop tomorrow, they will help you out on just the parts you need.

We would be proud to have some pics of our coil relo on your bad-*** ride!
