Apes installed on my 2011 Fatboy Lo
I finally installed the LA Chopper 14" 1.25 Hefty bars along with Magnumshielding black pearl cables. This install is a trial for me as I wanted to see if the apes would be comfortable for me. I received the bars from a good friend of mine for a couple of beers. If I like them I am planning on Carlini 1.5 14 "or 16" flying Apes with High Roller risers next winter. The next project is installing 10" mini apes on the wife's Sportster in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Bikerlaw. We'll see how the comfort is for me. Up until last year Apes would have been out of the question for me. Service injury prevented that, but after a several years of therapy and surgery I feel up to it. The bars have a few small blems in them, if any thing I could always have them powder coated.

For what little I got to ride with them they feel great. Handling was a bit different but once I got used after a few miles it handles great. I did some figure 8's and slow speed turns no problem. I will be home in 3-4 weeks and plan on a weekend trip with wife. Should get a good sense of them after 800+ mile weekend.
