I'll have to say in the 7yrs and over 29k post I've made in here, and I read probably more they 3X's thats many...
I have never heard of anyone complaining of what Ur saying...
I will say that there's been quite a few that has said that about other A/C'ers....
U must be rather Short in the legs for it to brother U...
I'll also add just last summer I cut my football A/C down to a Round cover that just covers the SE HIGH Perf A/C I installed,, maybe that would help U also without spending a lot of $$$$$$..
Heres a pic of how I cut my stock HD Football A/C cover down and PC'ed it .
I had the same problem and improved it with SE AC and small round cover. Also like the way it exposes more of the engine. I like the look.
Ok, you and I have the same height and inseam. I've been riding for over 40 years and have only been able to solve the knee problem twice. Used an SU carb with a dropped manifold on my 1980 Shovel and for my 2011 fatboy I bought one from S&S that has two runners pointing strait ahead with twin filters. It looks awesome to me but most of all my right leg can do a dance on the footboard. They also claim you'll pick up a few horsepower but can't feel that but I can feel my knee. Had both my knees replaced last year so know they like it to. Think you can see it in my pic. Now on to the seat. Corbin solo and pinion is the best out there for me. I'm no lite weight at 275 but like a seat that's firm without much cushion, made from leather, and no stitching in the seat. I''ve been using them on all my bikes(8) I've had the last 25 years. I'm pissed at them for the last seat they sent me because I got stitching in the seat, which I did not want because we get too much rain here and stiches like rain. I didn't send it back though because I was going on a trip and the one that came on my Fatboy(Pearl) belongs in a torture chamber. They would have to shoot me to get it back now. The best one ever. E-glide goodies I think makes a spacer to move the floorboard out which helps alot to

Reason: more news
If U get the get the one that turn 90* to the front or "SE - Big Sucker" air breather... It I think I've read it will stick out even further than the SE/AC the replaces the stock unit.
Trust me when I say theres much more room using the S&S tuned dual runner air cleaner. I checked my two pictures and you can't see it and I'm a retard on how to get pictures posted but it worked for me.
I have a friend who bought a Victory for that very reason. I can't say I agree with his reasoning but that was deal-breaker for him on every Harley he tried.
Like Hogpro said Floorboard Extensions, cheaper than a new seat, less messy than shortening your legs. worked wonders for me, very comfortable riding position.
We have Low Profile A/C's & Super-Low Profile A/C's that give a lot more leg clearance. There is also a Coupon Code right now for them right now...see below in my sig.
