Help please!!!

New to the forum and wet around the ears when it comes to working on this bike. 08 deluxe, putting samson true duals straight cuts on. Replaced coil bracket and shifter rod. My problem is that that after installing the new shifter rod, it just sits there and rest on top of the primary chain case. If i were to leave it like this, every time I shift, the rod is going to rub on the case. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Couldn't screw it on from the other side cause transmission cover was in the way. Any advice????

Need some pictures of the shifter rod installed.. Are you sure it's not backwards?

He does not have enough posts to post any pictures, but yeah it does sound like something is back wards.

By adjusting the joint you should be able to correct that. I am running the same on our 07 deluxe and it will be close to the case and should look like this:

be patient..that arm sucks to get right. i F-ed around with mine for hours...first hit the primary...fixed....that caused it to hit the pipe....fixed...which caused it to hit the primary, etc etc.. like a sh!tty circular reference.
