If you're interested, we offer a hard mount kit for your solo bag that lets you mount it solidly on the swingarm and you can do away with using the straps or tie wraps that can damage the powdercoat on your swingarm. Plus, it helps the bag hold its shape better and you can safely carry more stuff in it without it slumping down.
Thanks I'll think about that. I wish that it held the bag closer to the swingarm.
The HD bag did come with clear plastic protectors that stick on to the swingarm. Not sure if that's a new thing or how they will hold up.
We've had some people mention that. The amount it sticks out also depends on how deep (thick) your bag is. The one in the pics is 5" deep.
It's actually very easy to make it come in closer to your bike by simply cutting down the spacers and you can bring it in to suit your preference. We tried to make it as universal as possible, so we decided on a length thay will allow people with axle covers to still use the kit. Also for people with lowered bikes, it stands out far enough to not have the bag interfere with the rear fender when the suspension compresses. So, we wanted to try to make sure it worked for everyone's setup, but like I said, it's super easy to tailor it to fit your bike and style.
