No, the only slight thump I feel is at idle. Acceleration is very smooth up until about 3500 rpms when you start to feel the buzz and need to shift up.

I appreciate reading all your posts. I first fell in love with the VRSC for is smooth ride and amazing feel. Now I'm considering a touring bike (Street Glide or Road King), a FatBoy Lo, or a Softail Slim. Learning from your experiences is helpful.

Well, I'm a big touring fan, my previous two bikes were an '09 RKC and a '12 RK. I'm an old fart and long trips are a thing of the past and my better half no longer rides with me. About a month ago, I traded my '12 RK in on a '13 Deluxe. 1000+ miles in less than a month. Life is good!
