Ok, so according to V&H there's a gasket between the pipe and exhaust port which I did not see on either exhaust ports when I took the old pipes off. There rear pipe is hard to get threads thru the flange to get the nuts on. I find it hard to believe to use the recommended SE flat gaskets recommended would make that much of a difference. Off to HD to get new gaskets and circlips.
I put these pipes on over the winter and it wasn't easy. When you get the new gaskets take your time to get them in evenly with out crushing them. On my second attempt I used a flat washer just big enough to cover rhe gadket which allowed me to work them in. Keep it all loose until you get the nuts started all the way around. Torque spec on the header bolts is 110-120 INCH pounds. Not very tight at all.
If you can get a second pair of hands to help it will make it go a lot easier. Just take your time and it will be worth it. They sound great.
Well, I just found out the hard way that the HD Rocker is undoubtedly a CVO...this I did not know. I have the wrong pipes for my rocker. Here's hoping that the place I ordered them from last sept will exchange them for the correct pipes
Yea if you go to the V&H site and click on the CVO option for pipes it has the exact same part number that the guy at V&H said I needed. I didn't think rockers were CVO's either. I guess another call to them is in order to tell them that their website is very misleading.
