Hey forum. I am replacing my front turn signals on my FatBoy. I went with the Alloy Art leds. I finished taking the stock ones off and noticed that theres 3 wires and my new ones have only 2 wires. I did try to contact Alloy Art but no luck as of yet. Do all leds come with only 2 wires? The left stock wires are black, blue and violet and the right stock wires are black, blue and brown. The new leds have a black and yellow wire on each of them. The rears were no problem. 2 stock wires connected to 2 led wires. So confused on the fronts. I need another drink...lol...Any help will be greatly appreciated...Thanks...Ray...

Your FatBoy has two circuits (running and turn) and a ground, for a total of three wires.
Sounds like the LED's you bought are for turn only.
Shoulda went with Custom Dynamics - their Customer Support is top notch, and they will answer their phones and emails.
Ray,
I'm gonna try to help you, as I just did this on my bike.
The black is ground, the blue will supply 12volts when IGN is ON, the purple will be your turnsignals (pulsates 12v or 6v when you actuate the turn signal switch) It would be the brown one on your right side. (on my bike they were both purple).
The best way to tell is to get a tester and probe the wires with the IGN on and when you turn the signal switches.
Now, since your new led lights only have 2 wires, one would be HOT and one would be Ground. You can then make a decision wether to run it as just turnsignals or running light.
Hope that helps,
Good Luck
John
Or you can grab a badlands illuminator to make it run both. Alloy Art is familiar with it and so is Badlands. I did that on my rear signals with alloy art.
I believe this is what I need for my front led turn signals. From Custom Dynamics. It is called the Eclipze2 Module. Looks like a pig-tail. They cost 25 bucks. Can this be made? Has anyone ever try to make this? What I am guessing is the module under that shrink wrap is the key. Do electrical stores carry a module for this purpose? I am just trying to save some money. Thanks for any help or advice...Ray... http://www.customdynamics.com/eclipze_module.htm
You might be able to find the same thing in an electronics supply house of some kind.
But do yourself a favor and don't bother, just get the Custom Dynamics pieces.
They may not be the cheapest option out there, but the savings in time and trouble is well worth the extra price.
You didn't mention which lights you got.
But if its an entire replacement assembly check the instructions or any on line installation instructions about them.
They may in fact be dual intensity, but still only have two wires.
In that case the common practice to use the housing as the third or ground wire.

Looks like that might work if you want both running and turn signal for your Alloy art leds.
Price is not bad either. Although I would check with alloy art first to make sure.
Good Luck and let us know how it all work out
