Shotgun Shock Gauge
While riding to work today and playing with my shotgun shock I thought that it would cool to hook up a gauge that would have 2 indicators, one showing how much pressure was in it (to show firmness) and another to show what ride height you were set at, similar to this but with 2 display bars.

Since everything pressure wise is internal it probably isn't possible to do something like this, but it would be cool.

I have had the Shotgun for over a year. I really thought I had it figured out, how to work it, set it and so on. Then I talked to a guy on here who talked directly with JD as he was putting it on. JD gave him some tips and he then passed them on to me. I learned I was not getting full use out of it the way I was setting it and adjusting it. Now that I adjust it using the tips JD passed on to this guy I have even a better ride than I was getting adjusting it on my own. Just when you think you know everything someone comes along and proves you wrong.. I am going to send this guy a PM and ask him if it's Ok if I post his name here so that if you have any questions you can contact him and use his tips like I have. If he doesn't mind I will be back to this thread to post his name. I am glad I humbled myself admitting I don't know everything and asking this person for his tip's. I went for a ride yesterday using those tips and it was a new, better and improved ride.
I dont think this would work because unlike simple air shock kits I do not believe there is continuous line pressure. These shocks have solinoids in them and the pressure is only accurate between the solinoid and the air cylinder side and not on the feed line side where pressure could eventualy bleed out (which doesnt matter in a system like this)

I just talked to the guy that past on these tips to me that he got directly from JD, in person. I'm still playing with it and the tips I got were from Bocifus. I just got a reply from him and he said it was ok to put his name out there. There is also a video on another Shotgun thread that's going around right now that is very helpful too. I can pass this on though. When adjusting the Shotgun, hold BOTH switches all the way in the up position until they can't go anymore than for an additional 8 or 10 seconds. Then adjust it from there, the desired ride height and rebound. I had been doing it all backwards. I was taking it all the way down and adjusting it from that position. I don't have all the answers as I am learning all over again myself. For additional tips or questions send Bocifus a PM. He was at JD's shop and he got all this information and tips from JD himself and in person. I don't think you can find or ask for a better and more reliable source than that! Personally? I thought I had this Shotgun mastered and down Pat. Then I got to thinking and yes, I humbled myself, and I wrote Bocifus just to make sure I was using it right and getting my moneys worth out of the shock. I went for my 1st long ride yesterday after using a few of these tips and it was like a new ride again and no, I didn't have it mastered and I wasn't getting my moneys worth out of it the way I was playing with it and adjusting it. If I knew how to copy, paste and all that stuff I would just post Bocifus's message to me but I don't know how. I guess one never get's to old to learn new things if you're not afraid of asking and admitting that you just might not know everything. Send Bocifus a PM, he's OK with me putting his name out there and answering anyone's question's. I wrote Bocifus the other day just to verify that I was using the Shotgun correctly. Instead I got schooled on it and found out I wasn't using it right at all. Before anyone starts sending out nasty, judgmental and critical replies I have had a learning disability my entire life. I can't learn from reading, I have to be told or shown how to make things work properly. It's a Biotch but it is what it is. Once Bocifus "showed" me ( wrote me and with the aid of that video), what and how to do it, it was a snap. There's nothing wrong with asking questions, if one can admit that they don't know it all. I surely don't!
I'm pretty sure JD in one of his early videos shows holding the switch for about 10 seconds after it stops to fully lift and rebound the system.
It's what I've been doing as a starting point since I got the system.
I thought it was common knowledge for any who researched the system.
