Is having a windshield with apes just wrong?

It's been in the low 40's here in PA for the ride home from work at 12:30 am. I've been loading up on warmer riding gear to get ready for colder fall riding. My apes are pushed forward and I'm not really sure I could make a windshield work. Might have to do some experimenting with it. I won't do too many long distance rides over the winter but it's about a 20 mile ride to and from work every day.

Here's a "Rube Goldberg" setup I conjured up for long rides. It's a
Windvest shield shortened a couple of inches. Doesn't look that
great but definitely cuts down that rush of wind on the face and
comes off in minutes.

The National Cycle small wind deflector looks and works just fine on my 07 FXSTC.
Not easy to see but it fits in between the mini apes. I use it to keep wind of my chest during winter riding.
Yes! Snow belt riders do ride in the winter. Did 7K from Nov. 1 to this past March 31.
