Have you tried one of them clay bars? I used one once to remove some over spray that got on there by mistake. Just a thought.

Whats with the Windex in your OP?

Is the ride you speak of the Freedom Run?

I saw some water spot on my exhaust covers yesterday. I haven't washed it and it hasn't rained, so I don't have a clue where they came from. And I park it in a carport, under a tarp.

Yes, the Freedom run Saturday. The one I am going on is out of Morris here, the Grundy county fairgrounds. Line up starts at 6 to 10. As for the clay bar? Yes, I have one but boy would that be a job. It would be hard getting in all the tight spots with that clay. I could see where it would work on the larger, easy access areas of the bike though. As for the ion exchange thing? I been using the city water here from my house and it never did this before until I got this Eagle One crap. As for the "Windex" thing? There are many guys who give their bikes a quick wipe down and shine with Windex. I was never a big fan of that but I have done it before. The reason I used the windex this time around was to see if I can get these water spots off with that, it didn't even come close to removing the spots this time around and I was really surprised at that. I am doing a few chores around the house then I am going out to try the Vinegar thing. I will post results when I'm done.

I've always had good luck with only washing mine only with soft water from one of the taps from inside the house.

UPDATE: Hey gooberdog, thanks a TON for posting that white vinegar video, that worked AWESOME!! It was virtually effortless too, no hard rubbing at all and there isn't one stinking water spot on my bike now. It also takes next of nothing to use in doing it too. I bet I just did my entire bike in under an hour and I probably used less than a shot glass of the white vinegar and bada bing, bada boom, mission accomplished. I wasted a good 4 or 5 hours freaking with that job the past 2 days and this vinegar did it with complete ease, showroom clean again. I will now add a small bottle of the white vinegar to my detailing kit so it's there at all times. I felt like a fool asking about such a minor thing but for whatever reason this time the water spots were horrible. You don't ask, you don't learn. I did use use tap water from inside the house "wide open" and a hose outside off the side of the house and it is city water and I have no water softener. I can only say the only thing I did different this wash and dry was the new soap I used, that "Eagle One" enviro-wash crap. It's the ONLY thing I did different this time around. I'm off to the shower and out cruising on my "spotless" clean and shiny scooter"! I can also now go the the Memorial run tomorrow without my bike looking like carp and an embarrassment to me.

Thumbs up

I didn't think it was a dumb question at all. The longer you leave the water spots on the harder they are to remove, sometimes you have to break out the buffer. I'm glad the vinegar worked out for you!

T-Bone.. water spots is cause by Hard-- non-softened water and then sun dried.....

there are some products and U've seen Vinegar that may help.!!!..

I washed my brand new $45K Yukon one night back n the early 2k's with our well water and let it dry over-night without wiping it dry and I couldn't believe the water spots it left. There ase some products that will help get them out , though I didn't try viginar on the new truck.

holpe U get them out to U satisfaction.
