Not a winning pic 'cause it was from last summer, but as an example, you mean like this place?
Earliest I could possibly make it out there is Friday to replace that ugly **** in the pic with a softail...
Neat challenge - hopefully someone will beat me to it! Seen a lot of neat ones around the country (and I *KNOW* they exist world wide)! Some of them are even still in operation.
Does it have to be a grist mill specifically, or can it be any water-driven mill? They used water power for a lot of stuff, including trip hammers for iron work and running sawmills, for example.

Finally broke my cherry!!
(Edit) Forgot to mention that after a Labor Day weekend in the upper 90's and heat indexes over 100 in Ohio.... That it is 65 degrees as I'm taking this picture!! Yes, I ride 2 hours to visit an ice cream place with a working water wheel, and I'm too damn cold to eat ice cream. But the thread worked... I left work early and got in a ride!!
