Hey guys, looking for advice / opinions for a small backrest for the Breakout.
Basically wanting something detachable, but something that I can put on quickly when my little girls want to ride with me (5 & 7 year old) around the neighborhood.
Also looking to strap a bag & Helmet to it for long trips.
Thinking about the HD Low Mini-Medallion Style Sissy Bar Upright with the Medium Low Custom Upright smooth bucket backrest pad and Tapered sport luggage rack ... but not sure how it'd look and if it's the "best" choice from a cost / usage stand point ... meaning I don't know that I want to sink $500+ in a back rest that will be used very seldom.
Any thoughts / opinions on this setup, or have any of you found something similar that you like better (and why)?

I ordered the listed detachable for my Breakout - not sure how it looks yet, as the mounting hardware & upright are on back order...
I looked at getting the same setup for my wife but yeah half the parts needed are on backorder. I've done some searching and so far that is the only bar that I can find for the Breakout. I'm sure there will be more in time (hopefully some in black instead of just chrome) but for now guess we're stuck waiting on orders to be filled.
I have been waiting since the first of may for mine. All parts have come in except the sissy bar. They said they are sending the parts out as there made. Filling back orders to the dealers. I have some of the parts shown on back order, so it seems that's how they are doing it. End of June is when my sissy bar is suppose to be shipped. Will see.
Thanks for the update guys. Makes me wonder if it's worth trying to order this stuff befor a long trip planned in mid-July.
Doesn't sound very likely I'd have a backrest before departing.
Backrest came in, still listed on back order. Great for the wife and traveling. Pops right off back to solo look. You can make the breakout for all types of riding styles. This is just a fun bike to ride, for this time of my life its perfect for me. I still just like to go out and look at it, then do a quick 100 mile ride.
You can use the docking hardware off of a Fat Bob. I transferred mine over. The detachable side plates are also semi-universal. The sissy bar is rather nice. I believe my dealer checked and got one from another dealer for me. But it is a good size and angles back to give a little more room than normal sissy bars.
Got my plates and back pad sitting in the garage but still waiting on the bar and hardware. I can't believe HD can't get simple docking hardware out faster than Oct, that is ridiculous. If I get the bar in any time soon I might just go try some other hardware and make it fit. I don't want to burn months of riding possibilities...
