I've done all the mods on my scoot, cutting the rear fender and body work was time consuming.
The PITA mod was making my front OEM wheel which is a 25mm axle and designed for a mid glide convert it to a 3/4'' axle and space the wheel and brake caliper to match up for a wide glide.. The wheel bearing where also thinner than the 25mm which meant cutting the internal spacer/crush preventer.
i also do all my own work. The install of the Primo open primary was very time consuming since i never have done one. but other than that the biggest PITA for me was internal wiring in the bars. it was easy just a PITA.
I got a chrome primary chaincase housing for my 08 FatBoy sitting here waiting to be installed ..I read the manual and it is a BIG JOB!! so much has to be removed to get this thing on..but when I do it I will also be putting on the SE Compensator and SE Clutch Hub with new clutch disc's..might as well when everything is apart..I hate removing parts without upgrading them..
switching out the buttons on the bars for chrome one.. wrech said bout 1/2 hr job and when son and I were done on his 07 duece it was almost 5 hrs...
the Jim bottle was 1/2 gone, couldn't done it with it.
haven't done it yet and allready a PIA changeing to hid headlight,I have springer ,there is no good hiding place for the ballast. On my brothers nightrain he bolted it to the plate under the neck where the 2 frame tubes come together. On the springer, the headlight is 6 to 8 inches higher, and ballast has a short wire.BTW you can't splice wire it is a special fiber optic, type of wire.I have also checked several places for an extension wire no such luck.
