Shotgun shock. Or you may buy a lowering kit on eBay. Less than $30 shipped.
Search this forum for shotgun jd1 is the user.

I scrape my floorboards all the time stock on my 98'. No way would I lower! Unless you want to put 2k into a 8k bike with the shotgun?

Shotgun Shock is the way to go and it is so much more than just a "lowering" modification. It also addresses comfort and safety better than anything else on the Market today. Yes, it is an expense but it's also worth every penny. Remember, lowering kids do the job but they also take comfort out of the picture because there is less room for the shock to travel and absorb adverse road conditions.

EDIT: Also, I don't know if they will fit or work or not but I have Burly brand lowering bolts here somewhere that you can have if they will work on your bike. I will never go backwards and I have no use for them.
