Does anyone have any experience with lowering the back end only on a Road King Classic? Is this something that a lot of people do to their bikes? I know several that lower the whole bike but I like the angle that lowering the back only creates.
The RKC is a little harder to lower because of the leather saddlebags. There are numerous threads about this on the board. Search under "lowering" or "Solow". Solow makes a great lowering kit and I think there is one on there you can use.
I got mine on, took about 30 min., it made a big difference when I sat on the bike, put me down in the saddle more, sorry no pics. yet but I will try to get some when the weather breaks a bit.
I lowered only the back end of mine by changing out the shocks. I don't notice any handling or ride difference. The jerk at the Harley dealership tried telling me that by lowering only the back would cause all sorts of issues and it shouldn't be done.
My husband has a RK and has the back end lowered with the lowering kit since '97 without any problems.
Got it on tonight, supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow, hoping to go cruzin if the wind stays below 30 mph. Took about 30 mins is all, a very easy install & easy to follow directions. Will get pic's tomorrow also.
