Thanks guys.
kneesinthebreeze, I had the same dilemma for a long time. I ended up going with these because I felt they helped to maintain the old school feel of the springer. That, and I have a steep driveway. I would not be able to make it out with 36" Cholos without tearing them off.
Sorry about the low quality pics but I just threw on some Samson Longhorns with a PCV. Just thought I'd share.
Zambo, just wondering if you did any mods to the Samson's, I just installed the sidewinders, was wondering if I pulled the baffles, how much power loss there would be.
Anyway Pipes/fishtails look awesome.

I was thinking about pulling the baffles until I fired up the bike before I put on the heat shield and realized that they are more than loud enough for me. They have a nice thick rumble.
If your dead set on taking yours out you might be able to get back some of the back pressure with some power cones...but then again I don't really know what I'm talking about. This is my first attempt at a mod besides changing to a round A/C cover.
I'm going to try and get a few more pics and maybe a sound bite this coming week. It has been raining for about a week straight around here.

The sound on this is pretty crappy. For whatever reason the mic on the camera chose to pick up the birds chirping in the trees over the rumble of the internal combustion engine right next to it...go figure
