Viking Bags Latch Problem
I recently purchased a set of hard bags from Viking Bags, model number LAM-300-L.
They're some pretty high quality bags and looks great.
I had an issue with them popping open when I hit the side lightly.
The latch plate was too close to the edge:
So I moved it back some:
The latch itself wasn't shaped right, so I decided to add some weld material and grind it so it was flatter on top:
This fixed the problem. I haven't had any other issues since.
I called customer support and they were very helpful. They offered to replace the latches, but I had already fixed them. They asked me for some documentation on how I fixed it.
So the bag is great with the exception of the locks, but with some effort, you can make it work. The price is good, and the customer service is great.

I purchased the same bags and was having the same issue on only the left bag. Watched you're video and I believe I have it fixed. Thanks for your posting. How long have you had the bags on your bike now? I just installed mine 2 days ago and I'm wondering how they ar going to hold up in the long run.
