New Heritage Classic, and I've been noticing neutral isn't the easiest to find. Figured it was just one of those temperamental things every bike has. Got to be real light on the upshift, and I can usually get it after one or three tries.
Not sure on your bike. I have a 2012 Fatboy and I've had the same neural issue. Not sure whether it just got easier or I got better. Instead of pulling up with the toe of my boot, I now slide my foot forward so the shifter is now resting on the top of my boot rather than the toe. Seem to be able to have better control and am able to find neutral every time. The "find it while rolling" method works too, but I generally like to wait for a car to stop behind me before dropping it in neutral?
I had lots of problems down shifting and finding n when I get my bike. found the shift fork assys. in the dog house on top the trans were way out of adjustment and alignment. reset everything. It's not perfect but it's a lot better.
As I used to have to down shift two-three times to drop one gear lower.
