One thing I definitely want add to the bike is an engine guard / crash bar (and of course highway pegs). As there are quite a few options, I'd like to find out what others went with - and ideally see a picture of the bar on your bike. And then I'm curious what highway pegs (and mounting kit) you went with.
Mine came with this one which was included in the Rider's Essentials Kit
This one's kinda cool looking. Actually, I like this whole setup . . .
I believe this is the nostalgic bar as well. In addition to giving alternatives to your feet, and of course more chrome, it has a practical side as well.

Chrome mustache on my Heritage with stealth highway pegs. I like that I can move my feet around. My Springer has the Nostalgia engine guard with highway pegs but that was already on the bike when I bought it.
It's an option for some softails. Includes quick detatch windshield and sissy bar. Also included is the crash bar. My bike was optioned out with this when I bought her. Check out the dealer catalog. Should still be listed unless they stopped offering it.
Here is how she rolled off the sales floor brand new with this kit. Sure was easier to clean the white walls then. Meh, I may go back to basics sometime but I do enjoy some storage space;
