Mine does that with fuel injection and so does all the bikes I got even in the lower teens normal for a bike to stay at the rpm when first start for a minute or less
Sounds high to me, but if the ECM reads the idle off by +/-200 for more the 5 seconds, it should throw a code P0505 loss of idle speed control. Since you are not seeing that, are you sure your push/pull throttle cable is not just a little off and sticking the throttle slightly open until a little warmth correct it. Before you start it cold again, snap the throttle and make sure there is a slight amount of play in both cables at throttle body and you here the butterfly hitting the stop. I have the 04 electrical diagnostic manual, and I will bone up on the idle control. How close to stock are you? I only get 2000 rpm at close to 34 degrees start up.
No codes, cables look to be operating properly. It is just something different from what I'm used to. Cleaned everything up real good when I did my build back in Feb, But I suppose something has gotten dirty and could be causing this. I give it a good going over this weekend. Thanks for all ideas, guys.
