rough ride
hey guys,
after work today my heritage sounds a little raspier/rougher than normal.
I have noticed some days she has a nicer sound than others but this is really different than usual.
she runs fine, no sputtering or nothing just doesnt sound/feel right. almost muffled or quieter. maybe less powerful than normal?
diagnostic codes say there is no problem.
new big sucker air filter as of last week, but stock exaust.
just changed oil two weeks ago.
73,000 miles on her 8,200 of which I put on her in the ten months that ive owned her.
any ideas?

Question. Does your heritage come with oil pressure guage ?? And did you install the Big sucker yourself ?? Lastly do you notice any smoke from the exhaust after a 20 min ride ??
Those big suckers have to be installed properly. The 2 top bolts that screw into the heads are hollowed and have an o-ring seal (stock) at the head end. If you have re-used the stock bolts they will obstruct the breather port hole portion of the big sucker and cause the crank case to be pressurized. This in turn will cause all kinds of symptoms. A quick check (if no oil pressure guage is available) is just 'slowly' loosen the oil filler cap and listen for depressurization noise. (Air rushing out).
If this is the situation, either remove the 2 bolts that screw into the head, discard the o-rings and notch a grove into the mating surface of the oem screw head so that it can vent properly.
Otherwise the easier way to fix that situation would be to go buy the proper bolts.
Hope this helps.

Ur big Sucker filter is doing nothing more than just LOOKS.. U cant put through her more air than the pipes will let out....
Until U change out Ur stock pipes,, then U'll need some kind of F/M system...
Usually once U think something is wrong,, then U'll start looking and listening for a problem that Usually isn't there...
If she's running good and all else is good,, just quit listening for a problem that isn't there and ride the Bit(h..
