Problems with miss fire.
I've got a 1999 Heritage Classic that is acting up. When I parked it last winter I had to drive it to my father in law's house to store it in his garage in Michigan. It was running on one cylinder on the way there and I figured it was the coil because I had a hairline crack in it. Anyway I only had to go a half mile so I figured it was okay. parked the bike and moved to St Louis Dec. 26.
June 12th I went back to Michigan with a new stock coil that the dealer said would be okay for my Hi 4 ignition. Put the new coil on it and it ran the same, my son tested all the wires and all were good. Cleaned the contacts on the old coil and reinstalled it and the bike ran beautiful. My buddy rode back to Missouri with me and it ran great the whole time he was here, four days, 1500 miles. The day after he left it started the same crap so I bought a new Hi four coil put it on and the bike ran great again for about two hundred mile and now running on one cylinder again. Any ideas what to check for. When it is running like crap once in a while it will clear up for a few seconds and then back to crap. Plug wires are new, plugs are new, coil is new. Help?
