Any suggestions on what to replace the stock mufflers with? The first step will be slipons only. I don't want it to shake windows just be heard like a Harley should be.

Slip on's with a 1.75" baffles will be loud. Performance is generally best with a 2" baffle. Rush used to have a 1.5" baffles, but it's been discontinued I assume for lack of demand. As Iceman states, a forum sponsor of ours, American Custom Exhaust may be the answer for you. Retains your good quality muffler and some additional tone quality at a very low cost.
Khrome Werks look exactly like stock, louder than stock with a nice deep rumble but not as loud as most other slip ons. Removeing the stock mufflers also removes the CAT.

American Custom used to be a good choice but as of the 2011 models with cats in the muffler they don't exchange or modify them. Rush slipon's have always been a great choice.
Just an FYI. Looks like OP has a '13 Heritage Classic; same as me. Adding slip on's will not remove the CAT. It's still there and not inside the stock muffler. Runs along the outside of the stock exhaust near the frame with tie in points. Even so, I'm running v/h straightshots (w/ the quiet baffles) and it's plenty loud w/ the HD rumble you're looking for.
EDIT: Did a little double checking and now I'm not sure about the CAT issue. Had somebody tell me that component running alongside the exhaust is the CAT. Now I'm reading that it might be a crossover tube. Guess a little more digging is in order. Anyway bike sounds good and runs great.

If your stock muffler looks like this inside next to the head pipe then the CAT is in the muffler.
if your planning on getting a complete system some day why don't you just gut your stock mufflers and save your pennies for the system till you find something you like. your going to spend a quarter to a third of your money for just slip ons to spend another $500 to $700 dollars on a system. personally i would just wait. yes is do realize at that point you need some kind of tune but if your going to save the money it's better just to do it all at once. but as anything harley to each their own. congrats on the bike!!
