I did get a chuckle out of this. My apologies.

What he needs is the torque setting for the bolt. The torque setting is the factory specification for how tight the bolt should be. It is measured with a torque wrench which is a specialized ratchet driver.

It's pretty awkward to reach with footboards... sort of tucked up underneath.
