Right now JD at Shotgun shock has a Harley Davidson Forums, HDF, member price of $1250.00 Plus $50.00 shipping.

The wife and I both have bad backs and the Shotgun has HELPED out allot
in the ride of our '12 Heritage, the stock ride was good but with the Shotgun it is now GREAT!

You don't have to ride it "Slammed". We ride it at the full "UP" preload position using the preload switch, my wording, and adjust the ride height with the height adjustment switch, again my wording.

When we park the bike I "Lower" the height with the height switch, doing this does NOT change the preload adjustment, so my wife can get off and on the bike easier, she is only 5'2".
Check out Shotgun Shock here: www.shotgunshock.com

We have the Bassani Road Rage 2-1 pipe on our bike and the difference in sound and performance is noticeable. The sound is louder but NOT killer loud, nice and DEEP/THROUGHTY sound and the performance has improved along with the gas mileage. That is the Bassani pipe in our sig picture.

Looking at putting the Fuel Moto Micro Tuner by DynoJet on our bike in the near future to improve on the backfire on decal and cool the engine down.

As for the back rest or windshield our bike came with them stock and they are never removed so I can't help you there.

Thanks for all the info. I knew you guys/gals would provide me with some good stuff to consider. I'll consider the shotgun a little further down the road when some funds become available. I didn't realize it offered so many benefits.

DevilDogg, I live in upstate SC. Near Clemson University and just outside a small town named Seneca. About 40 mins. out of Greenville, if that helps.

I like the idea of a detachable sissy bar. The only time I will really need it is when riding 2-up or when using it to lash a travel bag to it. I saw the one's on e-bay by Bowman and the one on SoCalSoftailSlim's bike. I like the look of those enough to just leave it on all the time.

Right now the only change from stock is a set of red wires on the bike. I thought the left side needed a little bit of "pop" to balance the look of all the chrome on the exhaust side. Still needs a little something else in my opinion. Maybe a chrome cover for the horn or something like that.

I'll post some pictures when I change some things out.

CJ

Welcome back. I too was out for several years (while I matured a little). Probably would have killed myself if I had not switched to boats and four wheelers for a while. lol

Lightbulb Windvest!

For a windshield I highly recommend the windvest. I had the Harley quick detach small windshield and the buffeting was terrible no matter what I tried. I manged to get it to a livable point for a while, but this season with all the changes I made to my bike (with the help of this forum) I decided to try the windvest. I got mine used off eBay for around $100 and couldn't be happier. It just takes the air pressure off the chest and face and still lets you get plenty of air. Keeps the bugs off my face too, mostly anyway. And I now get zero buffeting. The looks aren't too bad either. From some angles you hardly notice it. I will never put the old Harley barn door shield back on.
