Has anyone got any comments or observations on the durability of the ceramic coating on the Vance & Hines black big shots.

I like the look of the black exhaust but fear it won't last like chrome.

Looks like the better halfs boots might scuff the top pipe when fitted to a softail slim.

Tried asking in the exhaust section but guess not so many visit there.

Had mine since 2009. Good quality. No issues. Will it last forever like well cared for chrome? No idea.

Four years is pretty good, better than I expected.

 

Since 2008 and have held up better than my brother who has chrome V&H.

 

I've had the Sideshots for 1 year and find the coating to be very durable. Everything simply wipes right off (bugs, fluids, etc).

Only thing that has left a visible mark was the end of my ratchet when I whacked the cover after the socket slipped off the flange bolt during installation. So learn from my mistake and wrap the header end of the pipes in some shop towels while installing.
