Started with my first HD in 2004 in the guise of a vivid black Nightrain, then onto a vivid black RoadKing Classic, and then a vivid black RoadKing which has now been sold.
Today I ordered a Softail Slim in.....................
Yep vivid black.
So although I have been on this forum for a while I haven't in recent years spent much time in the Softail area, so well er hi.
Live in the UK on the Essex / Suffolk county borders.
Which in a round about way brings me to seeking advice.
I have also ordered a set of V & H Big Shots which I will fit after the first 1000 miles. My question is, what is the best exhaust gasket to use, the stockie, SE or another.
I also have the V&H Big Shots on a Slim.
I went with the stock gaskets since I heard the SE variety were so thin, guys were doubling them up to get a good seal...
I even added a light coat of Permatex Copper, which will not only help make a better seal, it also made sliding them into the exhaust ports a lot easier...
Congrats. Ignore the idiots who try to tell you how you should or shouldn't build your Slim. There is no wrong way if it makes you happy. Enjoy it. I love mine!
