Nice ride. I like my set up of the hd boom. You can hear it pretty decent on highway. But since you have a windshield it should sound better.

Congratulations! You will love her!

Regarding the stereo: I have music stored on my smartphone. My smartphone, I keep in my front left pant pocket. Then, I have a set of earbuds that reach from my phone to be ears. The line stays out of the wind because I run it under my shirt. The buds are definitely secure due to me helmet. This solves two issues. One, any external stereo you buy for your bike is likely to have horrible audio quality. Not to mention wind and road noise interfering. Earbuds keep the music close and are capable of delivering crisp and clear tones. It does muffle outside noises some, but I've never been surprised by any "cages" sneaking up on me. Secondly, if I receive a call while riding, it's easily answered and I don't have to break or pull over. Pretty nice!

A last point is this. Bikers that run external stereos tend to annoy other people. It's like some that run around thumping their subs and rattling their cars to pieces. Other people simply don't want to hear what you're listening to. After seeing a disagreement over this once, I opted against ever using a stereo on a bike.

Still your call. I just find that earbuds outperform a stereo on every level. Unless you leave your bike idling, or wasting battery life to keep the stereo going in order to entertain a party. But, that's what a real stereo is for.

Just my two cents on that. Again, congrats on the new bike. Enjoy it and start racking up those miles! Have fun!

Thanks Mike,

Hoping to get some decent weather way up here as it's been a downer summer so far. We normally get 5 months of winter but this past winter seemed to last forever. Late spring and now bad summer.
Looking at some warm gear this week sometime.
take care eh !

CONGRATS - - what exhaust system is that?

Three months ago I purchased a 08 Heritage Softail Classic, blue with black. Like it a lot. Trying to decide on changing the mufflers.

thanks,
those are Bassani duals and are excellent ! Not screaming loud but just right and purr on the highway ! Love them. And the stage 1 kit also juices up the performance .
